Some might find this blog sad, some might find it upsetting but if you think about it, it’s a sad reality that we have to face. You learn a lot about yourself when you’re placed in a tough position. The world seems so simple when you are supported by others, but you don’t realize how difficult surviving is for some people. That is until you experience the feelings and emotions those people go through. Some families give up basic necessities just in order to survive. Nine percent of Canadians live in poverty. That may not seem like a lot but when you think about it that means over three million Canadians are living in terrible conditions. I personally find that very upsetting. The Liberal Party of Canada has a plan to improve these rates. Justin Trudeau has a plan. He has a plan to change the Employment insurance of Canada, which would make it so much easier for Canadians to get back on there feet. Now in no means am I saying you should go out and vote for Justin Trudeau but what I am saying is he’s smart enough to make realizations that the rest of us should have made long ago. Poverty is an unhappy terrible thing, the sad part is we don’t focus enough as a country to fix this problem. We focus too much on our own lives and don’t realize how much others around us are struggling. It upsets me that it has taken me this long to discover what some Canadians have to deal with on a regular basis. It upsets me even more to realize that we as a country aren't doing enough to prevent and fix this problem. We need to open our eyes and realize people matter, people need help, and as a country I think we can help those in need.
