What I like about this drawing
There are quite a few things I like about this drawing. For instance I really like the size of the shapes. If you look at my other drawings you can see that I usually draw larger shapes. Though with this one I wanted to complete one of my prior goals. That goal was too be more attentive when it came to fine lines. So I thought what better way to achieve that goal then to draw smaller. You see I find when I draw smaller shapes I often put more effort into the structure of the drawing. The only way to make the structure pop out is to use really fine dark lines. After all when you do abstract drawings structure is key. The next drawing i'm going to post focuses on mostly structure so i'll explain more about what I mean when I display that drawing. I would say that my goal has been achieved with this drawing. It's definitely one of my better drawings.
What I dislike about this drawing
Although I do like this piece there are definitely a few improvements that I could make. As I believe I mentioned I am incredibly picky when it comes to symmetry. So a part of me is a slight bit disappointed with this drawing. I without a doubt undervalued the symmetry aspect of this drawing. I suppose I dismissed the importance of symmetry. I tend to do that quite often when I focus too much on a specific goal. It's good to set goals for yourself because they do help when it comes to making improvements. Next drawing I will still focus on a set goal but I wont focus on it to a high extent. Instead I will take baby steps. That way I can still focus on a goal but I can take my time when it comes to achieving it. I pushed to hard with the fine lines and lost sight of all other aspects. So really I did achieve my goal but when you think about it I sort of took a step backwards. So my overall goal for my future art is to not lose sight of all the important parts in a drawing. Sure I will have those times where I want to focus on a specific point but I will refrain from losing sight of the other key features.
